1970 CUSTOM Downeast Cruiser, Ocean Pearl is a special boat; her hull is from the Eldridge McGuiness designed Bristol 42; she was custom finished by Graves Yacht Yard in Marblehead, Massachusetts for a knowledgeable owner. She was beautifully finished with a Herreshoff style interior featuring white bulkheads and varnished mahogany trim, lockers and drawers, all done to the highest standards, in 1995 she was purchased by the well-known marine surveyor Giff Full who oversaw a complete mechanical and systems refit at Brooklyn Boatyard, Brooklyn, Maine. All new plumbing, wiring, seacocks, refrigeration, rebuilt G-71 Detroit diesels were installed. Ocean Pearl was purchased by her present owner in 2005 and was taken to Rockport Marine where she was extensively refit and improved for extended cruising and living aboard; an extended hardtop with full enclosure, built in settee Hi-Lo dining table, teak cockpit sole, aft bulkhead, transom door and swim platform all were completed to the highest standards; she now has exceptionally attractive and comfortable living spaces making her an ideal liveaboard, Bahamas cruiser and Intercoastal Waterway commuter.
