1979 HATTERAS YACHTS Classic 53MY, The Hatteras 53 Classic Motor Yacht was in production for two-decades and is the measuring stick to which all vessels in its class are compared. Its design has been so successful that it deserves the distinction of being an industry classic and is still a popular cruising yacht whose comfortable ride and generous accommodations haven't been equaled by other cruising yachts of her generation. It offers three staterooms, three head layout with large salon, enclosed aft deck, galley down, and the split engine room arrangement and the split-engine rooms soon became a Hatteras trademark. Some of her notable updates include the addition of stall showers to the aft guest head, and forward head. Her low-profile flybridge, and walk around queen master berth certainly add to her livability, and creature comforts. Our vessel has the larger, Detroit 8V71-TI's (435-hp), which will cruise this Classic at 16-knots, and reach a top speed of around 19-knots. The yacht has a full compliment of electronics. She has redundant systems, including three (3) separate GPS units. Some of her many other amenities include: 1998 Northern Lights 16kw Generator, four reverse cycle heat/air conditioning units, Tiger teak interior, Naid-252 stabilizers, automatic anchor windlass, MarQuipt boarding ladder, updated carpeting, dinette and galley.
