Accomodations:
The Bertram 38 will accomodate four persons; two in the forward master stateroom, which has a vanity and sink, and a vee-berth with filler cushion, and two in the guest bunk stateroom. Aft of the master stateroom on the starboard side is an enclosed head equipped with a stall shower, and electric head, and a vanity with a sink. The guest stateroom is located aft of the master stateroom on the portside equipped with over and under bunk beds. Three steps up and aft is the main salon area. There is a dinette with cushioned seating for three persons on the portside and a galley on the starboard side. The galley is equipped with two dual voltage refrigerators, an electric three-burner stove with oven, a stainless steel sink, and storage cabinets. Forward in the salon is a custom added steering station with electric engine controls, and hydraulic steering. Below decks in the salon is the engine compartment. Forward in the engine compartment on the starboard side is the marine hot water tank. Forward in the engine compartment on the portside is a Trace 2500 watt inverter, and a Newmar marine battery charger. The house batteries are four 8Ds, two on the portside and two on the starboard side. The starting batteries are two 8Ds mounted in a box, forward and amidships between the engines. There is a diesel-fired hot water boiler located on the starboard gunwale, which is plumbed into the engines, the hot water tank, and six hot water registers with two speed 12-volt fans located through out the vessel. The AC and DC control panels are located forward in the salon on the portside gunwale. There are two battery switches accessible through a hatch in the floor, located just inside the entry door. Aft of the main cabin is the cockpit area, equipped with fresh and salt water wash down systems, two manual down riggers, two electric down riggers, and a transom door which leads to the full width teak wood swim step. The generator is below the cockpit deck aft and amidships. Forward in the cockpit on the starboard side is a ladder leading up to the command bridge which is fully enclosed with canvas and clear plastic curtains. The helm is located aft and amidships, equipped with hydraulic steering, electric engine controls, standard gauges, two cushioned pedestal seats, and an overhead cabinet with the communication and navigation electronics built in. Forward of the helm is cushioned seating for five persons with storage underneath. The command bridge is also equipped with a 1 polished stainless steel radar arch. On the vessels foredeck is a stainless steel bow rail, an anchor windless, a fiberglass anchor pulpit, and an anchor locker. On the vessels trunk cabin is an eight foot hard bottom inflatable with a 15-hp outboard, in mooring chocks attached to the cabin roof, and an electric davit for launching the inflatable.
