Deck and Hull Equipment:
The big difference between this Mark Ellis deep V hull design, with its 22-degree dead rise, and those on other 24-footers is its generous 9 ft. 2 in. beam, instead of the usual 8 ft. In addition to the extra 14 of beam, are the three unique full length longitudinal lifting strakes. Each strake is 2-5/8 inches wide with a lift of 1- inches. The lowest strake runs parallel to the keel all the way to the stem just below the water line. The third strake swoops up like a sleigh runner to the chine. The chine has a 1-1/2 reverse hook to throw the spray back down. The stem is raked and flared, while the stern is plumb and curved. The transom is fitted with a short swim step and ladder to the starboard. A heavy duty outboard motor bracket fitted with an electric start 9.9 high thrust Yamaha auxiliary motor to port. Looking carefully topsides, a few feet ahead of the transom, you can see a tapering in of the hull to the transom called, tumblehome. This is a traditional styling, and it keeps the cockpit and seating area back there dry. The laminated hull, cabin, and decks are hand-laid with alternating layers of fibreglass mat, a inch balsa core, and two more layers of stitch mat. The hull also has marine plywood stringers and bulkheads, glassed in for greater strength and protection against moisture. The classic hull design provides a smooth, fast, rough water ride. The rounded bottom on the centreline promotes a soft landing and the Bennett trim tabs give you that extra level adjustment as needed, when cruising. At rest she s very stable and the chines sit just above the water line.10KG Bruce Anchor with 105FT of 5/16" Chain and 400' of 5/8" braided nylon rodeBennett Type Hydraulic Trim TabsLast annual replacement of zincs, bottom paint and out drive oil August 2007Bow and stern towing eyesExtra fender cleats at the stern
