1993 DEFENDER Pilothouse Trawler, Defender Pilothouse - Detailed Walkthrough Entering the vessel from the side, via a gangplank with sturdy rails, you proceed to the cockpit, and enter the vessel through a sliding door with separate screened door. Immediately to starboard is a counter topped storage area, with storage under, reaching deep under the cabinet. To give you an idea of the size of the storage space, it will hold five cases of champagne! Main Salon The main salon sports the above-mentioned storage area. Moving forward on the starboard side is a large settee with storage under. Forward of that is a large computer workstation, desk and radio area, all built in custom cabinetry. Immediately forward is a handsome black lacquer bookcase and three large cupboards or shelves. Another storage cabinet with counter top finished off the starboard side of the vessel. Immediately upon entering the vessel a large comfortable couch is located on the port side. This couch opens out to make a queen sized bed. Galley A truly unique feature of the galley is the large, counter top height 5' X 8' holding plate freezer and refrigerator, heavily insulated, and fitted with four separate access hatches, insulated with four inches of foam, and nicely finished off. The large galley extends forward and curves around to the main forward bulkhead. A large deck hatch allows the Captain to look out over the bow and check the conditions. Aft of the master suite is a large area that extends the full width of the vessel. On the starboard side are a washer and dryer, and laundry and storage area. Amidships is a large double door hanging closet. The head area is large, light and open, and sports a full-sized tub and shower, home-sized toilet and bidet. A large sink and vanity area lies forward of the tub and shower. A truly unique feature of this elegant custom-built vessel is the antique Pullman fold out sink, still in working condition. A large brass antique compass is built into the head sole, as an added unique custom feature. Pilothouse The pilothouse is accessed from the forward starboard main salon by ascending four steps, and extends the entire beam of the vessel.
