2000 NOR - TECH 50, 2000 50 Nor-Tech, Located in our Ft Lauderdale office. Triple Yanmar 420hp diesels with dry sump Mercruiser #6'drives, and two speed ZF transmissions, 60-64mph continuous cruise speed, 2 mpg at 50mph. 400gallon fuel capacity. 9 beam, step bottom hull, Diesel genset, cockpit and cabin air conditioning, full standup cabin with separate master cabin, full galley with refrigerator, microwave, water heater, and sink. Enclosed head with shower and vanity. Entertainment center with LCD Flat screen television, Large cockpit with seating for 8, Cockpit wetbar, high end stereo, and a state of the art PC driven navigation system with dash mounted display. This 50 long 9 wide boat weighs in at 23000lbs. It drives and accelerates like a much smaller boat and has a very nimble feel. We did the original build of this boat for a client with very specific needs: Rough water capability, reliability, fuel efficiency, comfort, and an effortless 60mph cruise. This is the only 50 Nor-Tech with Diesel power using the Mercruiser #6 drives (they are used on the high horsepower gasoline engines). Although expensive to build using these drives, all of the ill handling issues of the Arneson drives and lack of trim leverage are eliminated. Its size, weight, bottom design, and exceptionally strong hull make for a very good rough water ride. Without a doubt it is the best Diesel powered 50 Nor-Tech ever built.
