On the starboard platform there is a center mounted boarding ladder to and from the water.Enter the Cabin through the portside full height rollup Strata-glass door into a spacious Salon with up-Galley and Helm - all on the bridge deck level. No having to go down into the Galley to prepare those gourmet meals. On the starboard side is the "L" shaped settee with fold-up table (that drops to make a guest berth). The port side up-Galley has all the ammenities one would expect to prepare a feast or a picnic snack. The centerline helm with Captain's chair with arm rests is forward with built in foot rest in console. Immediately to starboard is a co-pilot, ladder back, padded chair with arm rests.Down the starboard side steps forward and into the Master Stateroom, with full queen-sized memory foam berth on the bridgedeck inboard. There is a large hanging locker forward and shelves for storage. There is one overhead hatch centerline on the berth, and one opening portlight in the hull. Down the portside steps into the port hull is the ample Head with Shower, sink in vanity and storage. From the cockpit to the front deck is accessed by both port and starboard molded in steps to the side decks.
Mechanical Equipment:
4-cylinder, 4-stroke, direct-injected turbocharged marine diesel engine with aftercooler and Duoprop outdrives, with SS counter rotating props. The Volvo AD31L/P is a reliable and economic marine engine with considerable power resources, developed for planing craft. With its compact dimensions, it is excellent for twin installations such as the Buzzards Bay 33.The direct injection (DI) results in a low thermal load and low fuel consumption compared with swirl chamber engines with the same cylinder capacity. The engine is turbocharged with an exhaust-driven turbocompressor. More air can be forced into the cylinder in this way with the result that more fuel can be injected and the engine runs more efficiently. Since combustion takes place in a turbo engine with excess air, the exhaust gases are cleaner than in a naturally-aspirated engine. The turbo also acts as an additional silencer both on the induction side and on the exhaust side. This version of Volvo s 2.4 liter engine is the low stress version, as it is also available in a higher horsepower super-charged version. This engine is a rebuildable sleeved engine. We estimate time to overhaul with this engine at around 3000 hrs, depending on care and use. If the next owner continues to care and use her as her current owner does, expect more like 4000 hrs to overhaul. As such, at 1000 hrs, these engines are just now broken in and now achieving there best efficiency yet. These engines don t smoke, and with underwater exhaust, there is no fumes underway or station wagon effect.Being coupled to Volvo s very durable duo-prop drive set-up nets you the very best performance possible in terms of high cruise speed (25 knot s), excellent range (300 miles at 20 knot s), and very low draft (trimmed down running is 2'6", trimmed up is 2 ). With this power package, you get to have your cake and eat it too with excellent speed, range, the highest efficiency of any similar vessel anywhere, and such a low draft she serves as her own dinghy. This construction method, while more expensive, more than pays for itself in greater performance, (eliminates the need for additional stiffeners, reducing weight), dramatic increases in stiffness for a long reliable life, and perhaps most importantly, to create that feeling of a boat that is just plain right.
Owner upgrading to larger model, but this must sell first! Make reasonable offer! She is powerful, with quick acceleration, accurate control, and high cruise speeds while offering great efficiency and range. Her ride comfort soars to new heights with knife-like bows that slice rather than pound, with unmatched catamaran stability. Inside, serenity is the rule, with low noise levels, and an easy, relaxed motion that makes twenty knots feel like ten.
