This is a one owner 2004 Tiara 38 Open which I sold new. She has the large electronic engines, super low hours, with the teak interior and the Plan-A interior layout makes this the most desirable of the 38 Open on the market. Accomodations:
This Tiara 3800 Open has the more popular A-Plan arrangement which allows for a larger galley and dinette. The head and shower are also larger offering more comfort to a cruising couple. There is also more privacy with the A-Plan arrangement due to a door and bulkhead separating the master from the salon unlike the curtain partition in the B-Plan setup. The A-Plan has the ability to sleep four adults and one child on a Pullman berth. This particular 38 has been used for day cruising and beach swimming activities. The cabin looks as if it has never been slept in.Upon entering the cabin from the helm deck the large L-shaped galley is to port with roomy counter tops and ample storage cabinets. Immediately to Starboard is the large convertible dinette with ample seating for five or six adults. A flat screen LCD TV is provided for viewing from the dinette. Across from dinette on the port side is private access into the head and shower. The master stateroom is forward and accessed through a teak door for maximum privacy.The galley is L-shaped with ample counter space. Storage cabinets above and below provide storage enough for extended multi-day cruises. The recessed two burner cook-top is easily accessed and covers when not in use to provide more counter space. The double stainless under-mount sink is large and makes for a functional comfortable galley. The refrigerator is very deep and provides more cold storage in a smaller footprint than a typical marine refrigerator. The separate freezer compartment is large enough to store a few bags of ice or several containers of ice-cream. Under counter drawers are provided for dishware and utensils. Overall the galley is roomy and comfortable for a vessel of this size. The dinette is to Starboard with comfortable dinning for up to five or six adults. The dinette also converts into a double berth by the flip of handle which lowers the gas pressure assisted table top. The backrest swings up and secures becoming a Pullman berth for a child or small adult. There is also ample storage below the dinette as well as overhead cubby storage for a wide variety of items including movies and books, pots pans and other similarly sized items.The master is forward with Island Queen berth, large hanging locker and cavernous storage below the berth. While island queens have become common in vessels this size, it is unusual to have the island queen, large galley, convertible dinette and head with separate stall shower all in a 38 vessel. Tiara is able to accomplish this because they do not include swim-platforms and bow pulpits in their hull measurement. This 38 Open is equivalent to other manufacturer s 43 yachts. Private access is provided directly from the stateroom into the head and shower. LCD TV is in Master.
