Bray 125The latest project from Bray Yacht Design And Research Ltd. is a 125 ft. long-range motoryacht designed for a client with a passion for outdoor living. It is an update to a similar vessel for an owner with a passion for diving. This vessel will have a 14 knot cruise speed, 4500 mile range, and will be built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. The semi-displacement hull was model-tested at the Ocean Engineering Centre in Vancouver, B.C. for both powering and seakeeping with very good results. Predictably so, as this hull with bulbous bow is a continuation of the award winning work Patrick Bray has been doing with super fuel-efficient hull technology. The fixed/active stabilizers, bow and stern thrusters, and twin screws protected by large shaft skegs are a part of that development. A bi-foil (fixed wing) under each prop provides passive trim control and reduces pitching. Propulsion is by two C32 CATS driving 50 props, and electrical power is by twin 65 kw gensets. The lower accommodation forward has crew cabins and a lounge for six crew. The stairway comes down directly from the galley providing easy access to the walk-in pantry with walk-in cold room and freezer. Aft on the lower deck is a more formal space with 4 large staterooms, each with their own full head and entertainment centre. The stairway for this area leads up to the formal main salon. Aft on this lower deck is the laundry, gym, and engineer s cabin with direct access to the engine room. The yacht has a modern explorer-type profile and the main deck is fitted with huge oval windows that are featured in the full-beam Owner s stateroom, with library/lounge area, and deluxe his and her heads. Directly aft is the huge galley with separate prep and plating areas. Next comes the formal dining room again featuring views from the large windows. The formal salon is separated from the dining room by a removable partition. Aft is a sitting area across from the day head and bar. Out on the huge aft deck is a where the majority of the activities takes place. A large dining area for al fresco dining and a grand outdoor salon are followed by dual stairways down to a spacious swim platform fitted with hot tub and sun lounging pads.Stairs from the formal salon lead up to the sports lounge fitted with panoramic seating, large screen TV, and surround-sound system. There is also an owner s office. Forward, with direct access to the pilothouse, is the captain s cabin. The bridge has a bench seat for crew, navigation desk, and is fitted with an extensive glass bridge. There is also a day head adjourning the dumbwaiter, which goes to all the decks. Out on the fore deck are twin settees for lounging. The aft deck is very large with comfortable and spacious sitting and lounging areas. There is also room for a 26 ft. sportboat, a 20 ft. catamaran RIB, and several jetskis.U
