Accomodations:
The staterooms are very accomodating. The master stateroom is loacted forward witht heh guest quarters/office off to starboard. The master stateroom offer many wonderful amenities including a full size closet. The guest stateroom has been designed to accomodate an optional office arrangement. A comfortable seating position has been designed into the berth with an modular desktop that fills in the berth when not in use as a writing surface. This option will be appreciated by cruising couples who want adedicated working office space while not wanting to lose the sleeping capacity of the stateroom.
Galley:
For a 40 foot boat the saloon and galley are a real standout. The full width saloon features large windows that offer a great view of your cruising grounds. The convertible settee is uncommonly comfortable thanks to the generous seating angle that was designed into seat backs. No more sitting straight up in an uncomfortable 90 degree position. Two barrel chairs complete the seating arrangement.The galley shares the same open area as the main saloon. There is no bulkhead or tall counter to obscure the visual flow between the two spaces. The galley layout sensibly places the stove & microwave forward with the sink outboard & counter space aft towards the settee.The galley feels very open & spacious. The ceiling over the galley extends to the same height as the Pilothouse. The marine refrigerator has been positioned above floor height to allow for easier access to both the fridge and the freezer.
Deck and Hull Equipment:
The Upper helm station is the place to be when the sun is shining. It affords an unobstructed view forward to the bow. This makes docking and anchoring that much easier. An L settee gives you, your family and friends the opportunity to take in the views. The flybridge deck can accommodate a tender and lifting davit. When launched,you have plenty of space up top to relax. Access to the cockpit is off to the port side via the stairway hatch.From the cockpit you can lower the transom gate to give you unequaled access to the water. Unique to the Fathom 40, this gate folds up when you want security, but folds down flush to make getting in and out of the dinghy a snap. A great feature for avid scuba divers.
