Accomodations:
Total AIREX Core construction, which is the strongest, lightest, and most expensive composit core material available today. This is the only 38' Ernest Libby ever built with a total AIREX core construction. She was built to accommodate a 2100hp MAN Engine. Mr. Libby who designs and draws most of the North East Coastboats designed the 38'with many unique and custom features such as the shft tubes. this tube runs from the engine space to the keel. it has a cutlass bearing in both ends of the tube and it is water injected from the raw water side of the engine. This make perfect alignment of the engine to the shaft, no water on the boat from the shaft log and . . . . no hardware on the exterior of the keel forward of the propeller. Mr. Libby believes in getting clean water to the propeller, in fact he "hour glasses" the keel and carries those pockets forward on the keel for even more "clean water". There are built in lifting rails and spray rails already on the hull. this hull is finished in "white-white" Gelcoat. the interior has three coats of clear West Epoxy for total UV protection. the AIREX Core not only makes the construction three times stronger than fibrglass, it is 30% lighter . . . . . plus . . . . the hull won't sweat and it makes the hull much quiter too. All the main stringer are already glassed into the hull.
