Tony Grainger design, custom built TR-40 nearing completion. Tony Grainger is known for designing some of Australia's most innovative cruising catamarans, and a series of race winning catamarans and trimarans that have been setting the pace on the Australian racing circuit for quite some time. The 40 foot LOA measurement is broadly accepted as the minimum size for making regular trans ocean passages and providing reasonably comfortable live-aboard accommodations. Immaculate craftsmanship using top-notch materials and equipment, no corners were cut on this lightweight, trimaran cruiser/racer. Owner/builder worked for reputable custom boat builder for 8 years before starting his own company and begining this project. Started construction in 1996 with completion scheduled for spring of 2010. This yacht is truely a piece of art with strict attention paid to every detail, she must be seen to be appreciated. Owner/Builder is a meticulous craftsman with experience in restoration, repairs and fine wood-working. Originally started project as a personal yacht and is now offering her for sale.
