Listing Broker's Comments The New Island Packet 460, for 2009, is the latest innovation from the worlds leading Cruising Yacht manufacturer. Island Packet has always been known for listening to their owners, dealers, and their talented staff and continually trying to make a better product. Improving on the already popular 440 model, the 460 promises to be a big hit on the new boat market. There is the addition of a traditional transom which adds nice deck space for lounging or storage, but more importantly, gives you garage type storage, in the aft lazarette, for a generator and or an array of cruising necessities. There is a beautiful fiberglass and teak swim platform, mounted on the transom, with a swim ladder mounted underneath, to make boarding, from the water or a dingy, safe and easy. A transom mounted shower makes it convenient to rise off after swimming. The boom has been lengthened by two feet which will increase an already powerful sail area. The boom can also include the handy and optional, ExtendoBoom  feature, which aids in hoisting items on board. Other changes include the newly designed navigation station with an electric nav seat that will swing in and out, and a tilt out chart bin, for convenient chart storage. By extending the transom further aft, the aft stateroom is noticeably larger and sports the largest berth of any of its predecessors. A cutout in the center makes getting in and out very easy. Of course under that large berth is more storage space and engine access has been improved.
